Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) formerly known as Response to Intervention (RTI)
Mission:
The mission of the MVISD R.O.A.R team is to provide support to ALL students by promoting behavioral and social emotional learning that will empower and encourage them to reach their fullest potential every day.
Vision:
The R.O.A.R. team is committed to empowering staff with opportunities and resources to foster environments and relationships that enhance attendance, social, emotional and academic learning.
Goals:
1.Provide collaboration and consultation between campus staff and the R.O.A.R. team to ensure that quality interventions at every Tier are routinely implemented to support all learners.
2.Identify students in need of targeted or intensive intervention by analyzing campus data (including but not not limited to: universal screener, referral data).
3.Foster, facilitate and track student growth through the implementation of research based interventions and regular progress monitoring.
Having a systematic approach and framework for how we respond to students with academic, behavioral, or social-emotional needs is a non-negotiable standard. This is called a Multi-Tiered System of Support. MTSS involves intervention for all, targeted intervention for some, and intensive intervention for a small number of students. We seek to prevent school failure through screening, progress monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
